Kimchi Club: Bringing Authentic Korean Flavors to Australian Tables

For food lovers who appreciate authentic flavours and quality ingredients, Kimchi Club is redefining the way Australians experience Korean cuisine.

Founded by Minka Park, this South Australian-owned brand has grown from a personal passion into a thriving business, offering handcrafted kimchi, condiments, and sauces made with premium Australian ingredients.

The Birth of Kimchi Club

Minka Park’s journey began in Seoul, where she cherished family traditions like Kim-jang (김장철)—the communal act of making and sharing kimchi. After moving to Adelaide in 2000, she found herself struggling to find the same quality of kimchi she grew up with. Determined to bring authentic, probiotic-rich kimchi to Australian tables, she started making it herself using locally sourced produce.

As she shared her homemade kimchi with friends, demand quickly grew, and she realised there was a market for high-quality, handcrafted Korean food. But Minka didn’t just want to start a business—she wanted to create opportunities for other Korean migrant women in Australia. In 2018, she founded Kimchi Club as a social enterprise, empowering women through meaningful employment while sharing the best of Korean cuisine with the community.

More Than Just Kimchi

Today, Kimchi Club’s products can be found in over 150 gourmet stores and independent supermarkets across Australia. The brand’s success is driven by its dedication to traditional Korean methods while adapting flavours to suit the Australian palate.

Kimchi Club isn’t just about food—it’s about community, culture, and connection. The brand’s mission is to celebrate Korean heritage while supporting migrant women through employment and skill development.

The Women in Business Foundations Program: A Game-Changer

As the sole founder, Minka faced challenges in managing all aspects of the business alone. Wanting to grow sustainably, she joined the Women in Business Foundations Program through Adelaide Business Hub.

Through mentorship and networking, she gained valuable insights, support, and strategies to navigate business challenges. Since joining the program, Kimchi Club has refined its business strategy, streamlined operations, and strengthened its foundation for future growth.

“Finding the right mentor has been a game-changer. The program has helped me gain confidence in problem-solving and making strategic decisions.” – Minka Park
