Find My Van: Revolutionising Caravan Buying and Selling Across Australia

In a market where buying or selling a caravan can be complex, time-consuming, and often overwhelming, Find My Van has emerged as Australia’s first and only dedicated caravan brokerage.

Founded by Vicky Taylor, this innovative business offers a smarter and simpler way for Australians to navigate the caravan market, providing end-to-end support throughout the sales process.

From caravan valuations and nationwide buyer-matching to advertising, negotiations, and coordinating inspections and handovers, Find My Van takes the hassle out of every step. Whether clients are looking to sell a caravan or find their dream travel companion, Vicky and her team handle all the details, ensuring peace of mind and professional service. Over the past three years, the business has grown steadily and now supports clients nationwide.

The Inspiration Behind Find My Van

Vicky’s career began far from caravans, with 20 years of service between Dorset Police and the South Australian Police. Throughout her career, she led vital community safety initiatives in areas such as domestic violence, juvenile justice, and child protection. However, when she experienced firsthand the confusion and lack of transparency in buying and selling caravans, a new vision was born.

“I saw a real gap in the market for a professional, trustworthy, and client-focused brokerage model,” Vicky explains. “Especially for older Australians, the process was confusing and unregulated. I decided to create a business that would bring confidence, structure, and ease to the entire experience.”

Why Women in Business Foundations Program?

Three years into building Find My Van, Vicky recognised the need for additional support to elevate her business to the next level. Joining the Women in Business Foundations Program provided her with the tools, structure, and networks she needed.

“I wanted to refine our strategy and develop a clearer roadmap for growth,” says Vicky. “The program has also connected me with other inspiring businesswomen, which has been invaluable.”

Overcoming Challenges

One of the biggest hurdles Vicky has faced is the lack of local industry support, particularly from the Caravan Industry Association of South Australia, despite being a fully accredited caravan salesperson and a national member of the Caravan Industry Association of Australia.

“It’s been disheartening to have no response to applications or calls. I’ve always wanted to contribute more broadly to the industry, including at a board level, but without mentorship or recognition, it’s been challenging,” Vicky shares.

Key Learnings and Business Impact

Through just one mentoring session with Sharni from SMJ Consulting, Vicky gained valuable clarity on formalising a strategic marketing plan, improving customer journeys, and leading with confidence.

“Having an expert review my marketing approach opened my eyes to the importance of data-driven, intentional improvements,” she explains. “The program has already helped me feel more empowered to make proactive decisions and lead Find My Van into its next phase with purpose.”

A highlight since joining the program was Vicky’s nomination to be interviewed by the Minister for Small Business Development, a testament to the visibility and opportunities the program has created. Internally, the team has already begun reworking their marketing messaging, aligning email strategies, and drafting a new strategic marketing plan for 2025.

Advice to Other Businesswomen

“Don’t wait until you feel ‘ready’, this program is designed to help you get there,” Vicky says. “It offers clarity, structure, and genuine support. As women in business, we often juggle so much alone, but programs like this remind us that empowering networks exist, and they’re worth embracing.”
