EP Coastal Creations: Crafting Coastal Art with Digital Confidence

Born in the beautiful Port Lincoln on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, EP Coastal Creations is more than just a pottery business—it’s a fusion of coastal inspiration, creativity, and community

Founded by Sarah Wormald, a preschool teacher turned potter, this unique small business is quickly making waves with its beautiful, functional ceramics and hands-on workshops.

“I’m a small batch potter,” Sarah explains, “creating one-off pottery pieces that combine function and art, all inspired by the amazing Eyre Peninsula coastline.” Her handcrafted ceramics reflect the natural beauty of the region, with each piece offering a tangible connection to the sea, sand, and rugged cliffs of her surroundings.

But EP Coastal Creations isn’t just about pottery. With a passion for education and a background in early childhood teaching, Sarah also offers a range of handbuilding and wheel-throwing workshops, bridging her two worlds in a way that’s engaging and accessible to people of all ages and skill levels.

As a new small business owner, Sarah knew she had plenty to learn—especially when it came to building a digital presence. That’s where the Digital Solutions Program through Adelaide Business Hub came in.

“I joined the program to deepen my understanding of the digital components that drive business growth,” she says. “Social media, marketing, website development—I needed to build confidence and capability, and to really understand how these platforms could support my long-term business sustainability.”

Like many small business owners, Sarah faced early challenges navigating the complexities of digital tools. “I felt disconnected from social media. I didn’t understand the full power it has to grow your business and reach your clientele,” she shares. “I needed someone to help me dive deeper and really maximise those opportunities.”

Through the Digital Solutions Program’s mentoring with Sharni from SMJ Consulting, workshops and webinars, Sarah gained valuable skills in everything from content strategy and scheduling posts to building a cohesive online brand. “I’ve learned so much—marketing pillars, visual storytelling, financial management, audience targeting, and more,” she reflects.

The impact on EP Coastal Creations has been significant. “I’ve streamlined my social media, aligned my platforms for a more consistent and authentic presence, and improved my website sales,” Sarah says. “There’s more engagement, more followers, more workshop requests—and a clear increase in income.”

Perhaps most importantly, Sarah now feels empowered to continue growing and evolving her business. “The support I received was so tailored and hands-on. If I didn’t know how to do something, we’d do it together. It was all about building confidence.”

Her advice to other small businesses considering the Digital Solutions Program? “I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. The knowledge and strategies I’ve gained will keep me going for months. It’s practical, supportive, and exactly what you need to take your business to the next level.”

As EP Coastal Creations continues to grow, both in artistry and reach, one thing is clear: with the right digital tools and a deep love for her craft, Sarah Wormald is shaping more than clay—she’s shaping a vibrant, creative future for her coastal community.
