Chefadora: Bridging Cultures, One Recipe at a Time

From a simple longing for home-cooked comfort during COVID to a fast-growing global platform, Chefadora is redefining how the world shares, cooks, and connects through food.

Founded in Adelaide in 2023 by husband and wife duo Sanjam Kohli and Div, Chefadora is an AI-powered food-blogging platform that allows anyone, from home cooks and food bloggers to professional chefs, to publish, discover, and earn from their recipes.

Today, the platform boasts over 100,000 monthly active users across nearly 180 countries, with more than 12,000 recipes spanning 100+ cuisines.

But Chefadora is about far more than numbers.

At its heart, the platform is built on the belief that food is a universal language, one that preserves culture, sparks connection, and brings people together across borders. Each recipe is a story, and Chefadora provides the space for those stories to be shared, celebrated, and valued.

One of Chefadora’s most exciting innovations is the world’s first AI cooking assistant embedded directly into every recipe. Instead of pausing mid-cook to Google substitutions or clarifications, users receive real-time, recipe-specific guidance right when they need it, making cooking more intuitive, accessible, and enjoyable.

Looking ahead, Chefadora is preparing to break down even more barriers. Soon, the platform will automatically translate recipes into over 80 languages, opening the door for truly global culinary exchange and removing linguistic limitations from the kitchen altogether.

Inspired by Home, Built for the World

The idea for Chefadora was born from a deeply personal place. During lockdowns, Sanjam found comfort in her mother’s cooking, shared through WhatsApp messages, voice notes, and photos of handwritten recipes. While the food always turned out beautifully, the process of following fragmented instructions was frustrating.

Encouraging her mum to start a recipe blog revealed another problem: the technical complexity of food blogging and the lack of accessible, rewarding platforms for creators. Existing spaces often offered little return for the time and effort invested.

That gap became the spark for Chefadora.

Sanjam and Div envisioned a platform where anyone could share their culture through food and be fairly rewarded for their creativity, without needing to become a tech expert or full-time blogger.

Growing with Confidence Through the Women in Business Foundations Program

As Chefadora entered a new stage of growth, Sanjam joined the Office for Small and Family Business, Women in Business Foundations Program through Adelaide Business Hub, seeking clarity around marketing, particularly social media strategy.

Through tailored 1:1 mentoring with Amy from The Visibility Project, Sanjam gained confidence in founder-led marketing, learned how to set clear goals, understand marketing funnels, and connect more authentically with her audience. What was once an ad-hoc approach evolved into a focused, strategic content plan with a clear “north star.”

The results spoke for themselves. After implementing what she learned, Chefadora saw a significant improvement in social media engagement, consistency, and content quality. The business also developed a clearer PR strategy and a renewed sense of confidence in how it shows up online.

One piece of advice from Amy became a game-changer:
“Create content as if you are the brand ambassador of the company and they are paying you a million dollars.”

That mindset shift transformed how Sanjam approached content, bringing more confidence, joy, and authenticity to Chefadora’s voice.

A Platform, A Movement

More than just a tech platform, Chefadora is a growing global movement, one that brings people closer by sharing recipes, stories, and traditions from every corner of the world. It’s about understanding cultures through flavour, building community through cooking, and making the world feel a little smaller, one dish at a time.
