Building Trust, Legacy and Growth: Louise May of May Real Estate

For nearly three decades, May Real Estate has been a trusted name in Adelaide’s property landscape. Founded in 1995 by Anthony May, the boutique agency has been shaped by more than 40 years of industry experience and a steadfast commitment to trust, loyalty and integrity.

Today, that legacy continues and evolves under the co-directorship of Louise May, who brings fresh vision, purpose and momentum to the family business.

Situated at 224 Hutt Street in the heart of Adelaide, May Real Estate is proudly boutique in both size and approach. The team is deeply committed to achieving each client’s property goals while also supporting their broader lifestyle aspirations. At the core of the business is a relationship-first philosophy, nurturing people, partnerships, property and price to ensure every client feels informed, supported and confident throughout their real estate journey.

May Real Estate offers a comprehensive suite of services, specialising in residential sales, commercial and industrial sales, rural land and subdivisions, commercial asset management, property management, project management and auctions. This breadth of expertise allows the team to deliver tailored solutions across a wide range of property needs, always with a focus on achieving successful outcomes and satisfied clients.

Louise’s journey into real estate was inspired by both personal and professional motivations. Anthony’s Parkinson’s diagnosis became a pivotal moment, guiding Louise to join him as Co-Director, not only to support her husband, but also to establish herself within the industry and continue growing the agency into the future. Her decision reflects a powerful blend of resilience, partnership and long-term vision.

To help shape her professional profile and confidently step into this next chapter, Louise joined the Office of Small and Family Business, Women in Business Foundations Program. She saw the program as an essential starting point to gain direction and clarity on how to grow her presence in real estate under the May Real Estate brand.

Before joining the program, Louise identified key marketing challenges within the business. Through support from the Adelaide Business Hub, she has been working on establishing stronger online communication platforms and accessing personalised mentoring to better leverage marketing opportunities.

One of the most valuable aspects of the program for Louise has been one-on-one mentoring with Quisk, which provided reassurance, practical guidance and clear direction for skill development. The program has also encouraged her to put the right structures in place behind the scenes, laying solid foundations for future marketing initiatives and sustainable business growth.

The impact has already been tangible. Louise has successfully launched new business profile pages on Facebook and Instagram, supporting her website and strengthening her digital presence. A new Louise May – May Real Estate profile page is now live, helping to clearly position her professional identity within the brand. With ongoing guidance from the program, Louise continues to build her skills, confidence and competency in this space.

Reflecting on her experience, Louise wholeheartedly recommends the Women in Business Foundations Program to others considering it. She describes it as a flexible, practical and supportive pathway for anyone looking to establish themselves within the business sector, offering access to valuable networks and tools that help participants grow with confidence.

With a strong legacy behind her and a clear vision ahead, Louise May is thoughtfully shaping the next chapter of May Real Estate, one built on connection, capability and continued growth.
